Dating safety
Sweet On safety guidance: protect personal information, spot suspicious requests, report or block users, and plan meetings carefully.
Protect personal information
Do not share identity documents, your home address, bank details, passwords or verification codes with someone you have just met. Check photos for details such as addresses, vehicle plates or workplaces before sharing.
Be cautious about requests for money
Pause and verify requests for transfers, gift cards or investments, or claims that payment is needed for a meeting or identity check. Avoid suspicious links and software supplied by strangers.
Respect consent and boundaries
Either person can decline or end a conversation. Do not pressure, harass or impersonate others, or share someone’s photos or conversations without consent.
Use reporting and blocking
Report or block from a profile or conversation. Describe what happened when reporting, and do not let someone pressure you into deleting important records. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Plan in-person meetings carefully
Take time to get to know someone before deciding to meet. Choose a busy public place, tell a trusted person your plans and arrange your own transport. You can leave whenever you feel uncomfortable.
Profiles and activity are not safety guarantees
Photos, introductions, identity labels and activity status do not prove someone’s intentions. Continue to use your judgment; an interaction on the platform is not an identity or safety guarantee.
